She then engages directly with Jesus regarding the thoughts and emotions associated with her difficult client situation. As she engages directly with Jesus He leads her to unresolved memories from the traumatic labor and delivery of her first child; and, “coincidentally,” these memories contain the same negative thoughts and emotions that felt true in her interactions with her client, her husband, and the Lord. As she continues to engage directly with Jesus He helps her to resolve these traumatic memories, and we then observe that her anger towards her husband and the Lord, and her sense of unbearable burden regarding her client have also resolved. Finally, Maggie’s report at the six month follow-up interview indicates that these positive changes have remained.

Recalling a positive memory and appreciating it transitions spontaneously into an interactive connection with Jesus in the present, and Charlie then asks Jesus for guidance. The Lord leads Charlie to memory after memory, all carrying the same emotional package of feeling bewildered, alone, not seen, not heard, not understood, and not helped. After engaging with the Lord’s living, healing presence in each of the memories, Charlie specifically reports that he no longer feels alone in the memories, and that it feels true that God is seeing him, listening to him, understanding him, and helping him. Seven months later, Charlie describes diminished triggered reactions regarding the initial target; and when he thinks about his childhood, it feels true that the Lord is with him and helping him understand everything around him, in contrast to his previous experience of feeling bewildered and alone.

(LMS #29) Bob: Safety Net Demonstration

In this 2013 session, we demonstrate two variations of the primary Immanuel approach safety net. Bob also receives healing, and reports lasting fruit at the 5 month followup. (available in early December 2013 via Care Packaging)

Additional DescriptionMore Details

In this 2013 session, Dr. Lehman helps Bob establish living, interactive connections with Jesus in both the context of a positive memory and also in the immediate context of the session (Bob perceives Jesus kneeling in front of him, holding his hand, and praying for him). Bob then focuses on a recent trigger (a painful job-related scenario) until he is intensely upset, and Dr. Lehman demonstrates two variations of the primary Immanuel approach safety net. With the first variation, Bob returns to his connection with Jesus in the context of the positive memory, and with the second variation he returns to his connection with Jesus kneeling in front of him. Both variations work beautifully, and then there is time for brief healing work. (Interestingly, Jesus initiates using the safety net as they are running out of time at the end of the session.) At the 5 month followup Bob observes dramatic, persistent decreases in his negative thoughts and emotions regarding the difficult situation at work.

The Immanuel Lifestyle and Sustaining Joy for a Lifetime

Wouldn’t it be great if perceiving God with you were your normal, everyday experience? In this presentation, the Lehman’s describe what you can do to help nurture that hope into a reality. They describe the Immanuel lifestyle – principles that guide your understanding of the world, skills that you can learn and practice regularly, and behaviors that you can develop into daily habits. These principles, maturity skills and habits can help you to increasingly perceive and connect with the living presence of Jesus as an everyday reality.
